The Valley
With our strong roots to the Walla Walla Valley American Viticultural Area, we source all of our red fruits from the Valley to show off what it can do!
The AVA has over 3,000 acres of grapes planted amongst 4 distinct soil types, all of which play a role in the distinct profile of Walla Walla wines. Working with our vineyard partners from different areas of the Valley allows us to craft wines highlighting all aspects of the AVA. Continue reading for more information on the four main vineyards we work with.
Les Collines
Location: Les Collines means “the foothills” in French, aptly named as it is nestled into the Blue Mountains to the southeast of Walla Walla on the Oregon border. The vineyard ranges from 1140ft to 1370ft in elevation.
Vines: Planting began in 2000 and is now home to 13 varietals, we source many of our Merlot and Syrah grapes from Les Collines Vineyard, the latter being one of their most famous.
Soil: The soils consist mainly of silt with basalt underneath.
Seven Hills
Location: The Walla Walla Valley AVA extends over the Oregon border and we’re thankful for it! Seven Hills is just outside of the Rocks District AVA and ranges from 850ft to 1050ft in elevation.
Vines: One of the original vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley, Seven Hills Vineyard produces 12 varietals. We source our Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec grapes.
Soil: The soils consist mainly of loess above silt with a basalt bed.
Pepper Bridge
Location: As one of the lower elevation vineyards in the valley, Pepper Bridge has a warmer growing climate resting south of Walla Walla just before the Oregon border.
Vines: The first 10 acres were planted in 1991 and is now home to seven varietals on about 200 acres. We proudly source our Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from Pepper Bridge Vineyard.
Soil: Pepper Bridge sits on a bountiful bed of silt loam soil, one-third of which is sand making it porous.
